In this session the focus will be on steel cable and rope used in the entertainment world. We will start with looking at cable and the types of cables and terminations we use every day. We will then look at the various types of ropes we have access to in our work. How do you select what kind of rope to use? How much does the construction or the material affect your choice? We will also discuss the inspection concepts for both cable and rope. During this class, real examples of terminations and cable and rope samples will be shown from the instructor’s home studio.
